CORYS is very proud to share how intensively the SIMBOX simulators are being used in the SNCF training centers.
The nine sets of four cab-simulators were installed over a period of three years in line with the renovation of the SNCF campuses.
These simulators are the main SNCF training tool for their new driver training program, spread over eight different cities in France and catering for over 1200 new trainees per year. The video below shows the striking Lille campus.
Trainees can learn to drive three different trains in eye catching cabins – freight, passenger and high speed – thanks to removable panels, running on 3000km of track with all the potential French and ETCS signaling!
The instructor stations provide ergonomic comfort for the trainers and the unique CORYS TACTIS instructor HMI that can be deported onto a tablet to enable the trainer to move around the simulators and be next to the trainees.
Eye-tracking and debriefing stations are used to replay the training sessions after the simulation for post run analysis.
The 7-year maintenance contract will ensure the 36 simulators remain in constant working order, and are available for SNCF’s extremely intense training program.
"Through this project, CORYS has been supporting the SNCF's major operational training challenges: overhauling initial training, increasing the trainee success rate and extending the number of annual training courses. CORYS met all these challenges through an innovative solutions, and we are delighted to see that SNCF's objectives have been met."
