Due to the pandemic, the training of the future inspectors of the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN), scheduled in March, was postponed to November and carried out entirely online.
We were able to adapt our programme to guarantee effective training, including a theoretical part such as neutronics and materials, but also a practical part on simulator.
The 19 trainees split in two sessions were remotely connected to the machines installed in the CORYS premises. They were able to handle our PWR-C1300 simulator as if they were present in the room. Our trainer supervised the various exercises reproducing the normal and/or accidental operating phases, always ready to intervene to advise and correct the trainees.
Camille Bonnard, training manager CORYS said: “it was imperative we maintain our training courses in 2020. Very quickly last spring, we looked for a solution to be able to provide quality distance training for the ASN”.
