At the end of September, CORYS received the order for the update of operator training simulator of the Taishan EPR’s No. 1 and No. 2 reactors (also known as units).
Delivered and commissioned on site by CORYS at the end of 2014, the simulator has been used to train all the operators who have started up and run this plant since its commissioning.
This new contract will extend the scope of the simulator with more systems and equipment fully simulated and better represented. This update will also integrate the latest version of the control systems implemented on the unit (Framatome and Siemens) and a calibration based on recordings of the plant in service.
Finally, the operator TNPJVC has also entrusted CORYS with changing the simulator’s servers, workstations and IT equipment, and porting it to recent versions of the operating system.
Ultimately, the simulator will be as close as possible to what is implemented in the power plant.
In addition, a new, smaller platform will also be delivered to meet TNPJVC’s needs for operator training.
