CORYS’ ERTMS EVC software partnership with Try&Cert picks up speed

In a partnership that is innovative in the rail industry, CORYS has teamed up with testing and certification organisation Try&Cert to bring the advantages of simulation to ERTMS test benches amid strong demand for ETCS-related training and engineering across Europe. CORYS aims to certify its ERTMS EVC software with Try&Cert. But that’s just the beginning of the partners’ visionary cooperation.

CORYS is teaming up with Try&Cert, a joint venture between ISO 17025 accredited laboratory LEF and Notified Body CERTIFER, to bring both organisations’ customers ground-breaking integrated test-plus-lab solutions for the assessment of ERTMS rail signalling system interoperability.

The partners share in their conviction that ERTMS test benches augmented with simulation capabilities could bring unprecedented benefits to infrastructure operators, rolling stock suppliers, and rail operator engineering departments worldwide

ERA-compliant simulated ETCS software qualified

The partnership became official in June 2023, with Try&Cert attending CORYS SimTech in October 2023 to get better acquainted with CORYS’ customers. Since then, the partners have made strides that will benefit both of their customers:

  • CORYS’ EVC software is currently in the certification process at Try&Cert. Once certified, it will position CORYS to offer driving simulators with ERA-compliant simulated ETCS software qualified in the same way as real equipment, something never before seen in the simulation industry.
  • CORYS has connected its EVC software to a Try&Cert test bench and will soon be connecting a CORYS Ultra-Light Simulator for testing.
  • The partners plan to do an employee exchange to upskill CORYS experts on ETCS and Try&Cert experts on simulation technologies.
  • Joint marketing efforts are also planned, starting with a demo at Innotrans 2024

Innovative testing technologies

Both CORYS and Try&Cert are active internationally, and their respective footprints in different parts of the globe will create further synergies. Try&Cert’s involvement in research and development programs like Europe’s Rail, the European Union Joint Undertaking on rail transport, could also open new doors for CORYS, providing opportunities to shape the future of rail and promote innovative testing technologies, including for future modalities like autonomous driving.

One thing is certain – CORYS’ appetite for innovation goes beyond technology to new forms of partnerships and business models to respond to a changing rail landscape in Europe and worldwide.
