Long Island Rail Road to get three new simulators

CORYS came out of a very competitive tender process on top, winning two contracts to build new simulators for New York’s Long Island Rail Road (LIRR).

The first contract is for three quarter-cab simulators for three different locomotives: a Kawasaki C3 Bi-level Cab Car; an EMU based on the M7/M9 design; and an EMD DM30AC dual-mode locomotive.

The second contract is to upgrade the E1500 train replica simulator at the LIRR training centre in Queens, and to add a new classroom simulator. CORYS will simulate 153 miles of New York City’s eastern suburbs with computer-generated images. Looking ahead, CORYS will continue to work with LIRR on the simulators through a long-term warranty contract.
