CORYS a livré le simulateur de formation multifonction à Capital Metro, l’opérateur des transports publics d’Austin aux États-Unis, dans le cadre d’un projet global d’installation du contrôle de train automatique amélioré sur ses infrastructures ferroviaires et matériels roulants.
Le simulateur reproduit la rame automotrice Stadler GTW et l’ensemble des lignes qui relient la commune de Leander au Convention Center d’Austin, grâce à plus de 51 kilomètres d’images de synthèse.
Les voies ferrées et matériels roulants de ces lignes ont récemment été équipés d’un Positive Train Control (PTC), un contrôle de train automatique amélioré (E-ATC), suite à de nouvelles exigences de l’Administration Fédérale des chemins de fer américains. Ces exigences s’accompagnent d’une restructuration importante des infrastructures ferroviaires et du matériel roulant à laquelle il faut former les opérateurs de Capital Metro.
